As the two issues of water and sanitation are related to each other, the central government created the District Water and Sanitation Department in the year 2012 in order to implement them together and through this department, all the centrally sponsored programs are being implemented as follows-

Swachh Bharat Mission (Gr.) : SBM (G)

With the noble aim of increasing the level and extent of sanitation in the rural areas of the country through public participation, the central government laid the foundation for the Rural Sanitation Programme. Central Rural Sanitation Program (CRSP) from 1990 to 2000-01, Total Sanitation Campaign from 2001 to 2010 and Paveto’s Nirmal Bharat Mission from 2012 to 2014 and henceforth from 02 October 2014 Hon. Swachh Bharat Mission (G.) SBM (G), which was launched under the auspicious hand of the Prime Minister, can be said to be in progress. The main objective of this campaign can be said to be to adopt good hygiene habits among the villagers living in the rural areas of the country, to completely curb the practice of open defecation and to promote sustainable development with sound health and prosperity. Basic survey information: In the year 2012, the basic survey process has been carried out in the district as per the directives of the central government and at present the statistics of the families in the 13 tehsil areas of the district have come out.
