    Introduction :-

    The office of District Animal Husbandry Officer, Zilla Parishad, Nagpur was created on 01 May 1962 through decentralization.There are total 13 Panchayat Samiti offices under the said Zilla Parishad under which there are total 40 – Veterinary Clinics Category-1, 2 – Mobile Veterinary Clinics and 58 – Veterinary Clinics Category-2. . Accurate disease diagnosis and disease control is done through veterinary medicine. Under the department, general schemes, special component schemes, tribal area sub-plans and tribal sub-plans outside tribal areas as well as centrally sponsored and state sponsored schemes are implemented.

    This service will be provided during the working hours of the clinic. After receiving the sample, the disease specimen and excreta test report will be provided on the second day and the blood smear test report will be provided after 8 days.     The certificate will be issued within a day after the autopsy. Application is required to be taken from the beneficiary / herdsmen as the case may be for service delivery.

    9 In case of snake bite or dog bite, treatment and guidance Case paper fee per animal – Rs.

    Immediate treatment and guidance will be provided after the required vaccine/antivenom is made available by the animal husbandry. No documents are required from beneficiary/herdsmen for service.

    Supplying fodder to small/minimal land holders and landless non-poor line beneficiaries with hybrid canals and improved breed buffaloes on subsidy of 50 percent (and 66.66 percent).

    Beneficiary is required to deposit his share (50 percent or 33.33 percent) in cash with the Scheme Implementation Officer.

    The number of new beneficiaries will be determined subject to the budgetary provision and taking into consideration the commitments in the case of food supply which has been approved earlier. It is expected to take 3 to 4 months from the receipt of the case for delivery to the beneficiary’s doorstep.

    11 Supply of hatching eggs/day-old chicks/pullets and pullets. Beneficiaries must pay the amount first as per the prescribed price.

    Eggs and chicks will be supplied on the prescribed day of the week as per the demand registered and after receipt of payment from the concerned beneficiary.

    12 Distribution of fodder to the milch animals of Adivasi. The said service will remain free of cost to the beneficiaries.

    Cows and buffaloes are given 150 kg respectively during the gestation period and 225 kg. Feed will be provided. Also, an additional 90 kg of feed will be given to each animal during the last trimester of pregnancy. Food will be provided within 60 days after approval of the case and subject to grant availability. Beneficiary’s application form, caste certificate are required documents for service. It will be determined that 30 percent of the total beneficiaries will be women.

    13 Supply of milch animals on 75 percent subsidy to caste and neo-Buddhist as well as tribal beneficiaries. Beneficiaries are required to pay the remaining 25 percent of the group price themselves/avail loan from the bank.

    After receiving the application and sanctioning the loan from the bank, the milch animals will be supplied according to the availability of the subsidy. It will be determined that 30% of the total beneficiaries will be women.

    14 Supplying goat groups on 75 percent subsidy to Anu.Jati and Neo-Buddhist as well as tribal beneficiaries.

    10+1 goat group will be supplied on 75 percent subsidy after the above beneficiaries provide 25 percent amount by themselves or by taking bank loan.

    After receiving the application, after the loan is approved by the bank, the goat group will be supplied according to the availability of the grant. It will be determined that 30% of the total beneficiaries will be women.

    15 Allocation of Fertilizer Seeds for Fertilizer Demonstration Plots (Limited to Rs. 600/- per plot)

    For Kharif and Rabi seasons, if the demand is registered before 15th May or 15th September, the grant will be supplied by 15th June or 15th October depending on availability. Beneficiary’s application, caste certificate are required documents.

    16 Providing training to Anu.Jati and Neo-Buddhist beneficiaries.

    3 days practical training will be given to the beneficiaries through direct active participation. As per the subsidy available in the present scheme for each beneficiary Rs. 1000/- will be spent.

    Focus is determined according to available grants. Applications are invited from interested beneficiaries. Beneficiaries who will be provided with milch animals/goat group/poultry group will be given preferential training. After receiving the application, the prescribed training is conducted in the month of November and February of the financial year at the Animal Breeding Centre/Central Hatchery Centre/Intensive Poultry Development Group.
