The head of the education department is a class 1 officer of the state government. Their designation is Education Officer (Pr.). Also, two Class-II officers are working as Deputy Education Officers in this department. A Class-II officer works for control at the Panchayat Samiti level and is designated as Group Education Officer.
There are total 1565 primary schools of Zilla Parishad in the district. There are 16 middle schools and 6 high schools. The aim of the said department is to raise the standard and quality of education in rural areas. For this, the schemes implemented by the central and state governments are implemented with enthusiasm. A central government campaign is being implemented in the said department and its name is Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Actions are taken according to the implementation letter received through the state government by making good use of the funds received in the above campaign.
Recruitment, transfer, adjustment, promotion, inter-district transfer, exemplary teacher awards, retirement cases, leave cases, right to information etc. are done through the education department.

Group Education Officer:- To implement all the schemes of the education department at the district level in all the schools in the taluk and to maintain complete administrative control at the school level.
Education Extension Officer:- A beat in a taluka where there are 30 to 40 schools in a beat. Education Extension Officer works for educational and administrative control for those beats.
Center Head:- Under Universalization of Primary Education scheme, one center head works for every 10 to 15 schools. The main work of center head is educational in nature and quality development. It looks after the implementation, planning, control in terms of quality development in all the schools in the centre.
Headmaster:- Every school level has the post of Headmaster and the person in the said position manages the school control, planning, implementation with the help of quality development teachers. Regarding implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Student Accident Relief Grant Scheme Rajiv Gandhi Vidyarthi Suraksha Yojana is an accident insurance scheme for the students of the state from August 20, 2003 through the Tribal Department and Social Justice Department of the State Government. The benefit of the said scheme is given to the students in all recognized schools/colleges. In this scheme, in case of claim of loan, permanent disability claim, reimbursement of examination fee, loss of bicycle in an accident, compensation is given by the insurance company as per rules.

There is a provision for compensation as above and this scheme is implemented by the office of Education Department (Primary) Zilla Parishad Nagpur.
Attendance allowance for girls studying in primary school
To reduce the dropout rate and increase the attendance rate of girls going to primary school etc. Attendance to parents of said girls at the rate of Rs.1/- per day per girl to all school going girls in Tribal Sub-Plan Areas as well as Scheduled Tribe girls from other parts of the State other than Tribal Sub-Plan Areas as well as Scheduled Caste, Nomadic Tribe and Exempt Tribe students from poverty line. Allowance dt. On 3 January 1992, the government decided to start this revolution on the birthday of Jyoti Savitribai Phule. Allowed on 10th January 1992 A-age. Accordingly, this scheme is implemented under Education Department (Primary) Zilla Parishad Nagpur.
The subsidy of the said scheme is received from the government and is classified according to the demand of each Panchayat Samiti from the district level. Grants are distributed through schools according to the number of students from the Panchayat Samiti level.
Schemes implemented through Education Department Primary
Purchase of Sports Materials:
Zilla Parishad Cess Fund Scheme Sports materials are purchased in Zilla Parishad primary schools from the sanctioned budget of the financial year. The said material eg. Materials like Mary Go Road, MGR Monkey Bar, Fiber Slips, Boat Saw-C, Double Swing, Dustbin, Robit etc. are procured subject to grant expenditure conditions.
Purchase and Repair of Computers for Primary and Higher Primary Schools:
From the approved budget of the Zilla Parishad Cess Fund Scheme, computer sets are made available in certain primary and upper primary schools under all talukas of the district in order for the primary school students to acquire computer knowledge through the said scheme. For the repair and maintenance of computer sets in schools, the annual financial grant is received as per the demand of the schools.
Provision of bicycles to children of classes 5 to 12 in primary and upper primary schools:

All punishment campaign
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is a centrally sponsored scheme in the district to achieve the goal of universalization of primary education across the state.
Objectives
Activities under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan:- It is started through financial partnership of Center and State.
Every child in the age group of 6 to 14 should be admitted to school and provided quality education.
Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, physical needs of all schools, educational activities are implemented.
District level of scheme implementation under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
Group Resource Center (BRC):- To distribute various grants to all the schools in the taluka, to implement the initiative at the school level. At this level Junior Engineer, Cashier, Tool Person, MIS Co-ordinator, Data Entry Operator under the leadership of Group Training Officer manage the implementation of activities.
Group Resource Center (CRC):- Performs the task of implementing the entire program of Shiksha Abhiyan in all the schools at the central level.
Concept :-
According to Article 45 of the Constitution of India, primary education has been made free or compulsory for all boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14. Accordingly, in the year 2002, by amending the constitution, the right to education has been included in Article 21 (A) of the Constitution of Primary Education as a fundamental right. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has been launched to fulfill the objective of universalization of primary education which has been cultivated for many years. The program is being implemented with the participation of the state in a unitary manner over a period of time.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan is a planned program to develop the human potential of all the boys and girls in the age group of 6 to 14 years with the help of the community in the wadis and slums. It is a centrally sponsored scheme and a unique initiative to universalize primary education through active participation of the community in school management.

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has provided an opportunity to promote social justice through primary education.
Through all education campaigns, efforts should be made to involve Panchayat Raj Institutions, Village Education Committees, Slum Level Education Committees in rural and urban areas, Parent Teacher Associations, Maternal Parents Associations, Tribal Autonomous Organizations and Village Level Organizations in the management of primary schools.
Local self-government bodies, state and central government are partners in the proceedings of all Shiksha Abhiyan.
In Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, an important opportunity has been obtained for the development of Taluka, District and State according to the needs of wadaya, settlement and local level.

School Nutrition Scheme
Format of Scheme –
With a view to universalizing primary education and to increase enrollment and attendance in primary schools and to stop dropouts, the State has been running a centrally funded school nutrition scheme to provide 3 kilograms of rice per month to students of classes 1 to 5 from 1995-96. This scheme was modified from December 2002 has come and a scheme has been started to provide cooked food to the students instead of raw rice.
From the year 2008-09 this scheme has been started under the name of National Mid-Day Meal Program for Class 6 to 8. Keeping in mind the local interest of the students, Sambhar rice, Kaddhanya Usala, vegetables, pulao etc. are being given in the food. Also once a week in other nutritious food like banana, egg, biscuits, 450 calories and 12 grams of protein are given to the students of class 1 to 5. It is ensured that 700 calories and 20 grams of protein will be provided to the students of classes 6 to 8.

Method of implementing the scheme –
Rural – Maharashtra State Co-operative Consumers Federation Ltd. from directorate level . Mumbai District Office, Apna Bhandar Sitabardi, Nagpur Supplier Selection Agreement dt. Done on 14/06/2016. From the year 2016-17, the said supplier is supplying food grains to the schools. Also, the rice is picked up from the FCI go down and supplied to the schools through the rice supplier. Separate grants are allocated to schools for cooking food, fuel and vegetable.
Through the school management committee, cooks and helpers are selected and through them cooking food, grain cleaning and other tasks are done. Cooks and helpers are given separate grants as honorarium. According to the total number of students in rural areas in Nagpur district Rs. 36,07,000/- grant is sanctioned for cook helper. Accordingly, the grant is directly distributed to the account of the cook helper from the district level .
Only rice is supplied to schools in urban areas – Mahanagara Palika and municipal area. The school buys groceries and vegetables at its level and prepares meals and distributes them to the schools. Grants are distributed to schools together with cooking food, fuel and vegetables and cook’s stipend.
According to the above, in the present scheme, 2848 schools have been implemented school feeding scheme in Nagpur district.
