Right to Information Act 2005
The State of Maharashtra had implemented the Right to Information Order and the rules thereunder on September 23, 2002. On June 15, 2005, the Central Government enacted the Right to Information Act, 2005, and the State of Maharashtra enacted the Act on October 12, 2005. The Act has repealed the Maharashtra Right to Information Ordinance and Rules 2002. But the application before 12th Oct, 2005 has to be processed as per the earlier law i.e. Maharashtra Right to Information Act 2002. The application dated 12 Oct 2005 is being processed under the new Right to Information Act 2005. Information means any material in any form, including records, documents, memoranda, opinions, notices, bulletins, orders, diaries, contracts, reports, documents, samples, images, any electronic media, materials and other materials made public under any law for the time being in force. Authority can obtain. Right to Information means the right to obtain information held or under the control of any public authority and obtainable under this Act in –

These items include: Any person desiring to obtain information under the provisions of this Act shall apply on plain paper in the prescribed form by paying an amount of Rs.10/- in cash or by demand draft or by affixing the court fee stamp.
